‘Well planned play both indoors and outdoors is a key way in which young children learn with enjoyment and challenge’. – (DfES, 2000)
The environment plays a key role in supporting and extending children’s development, learning and wellbeing. It is more than physical space, as it can really contribute to creating positive feelings in children and adults alike. Every space in the setting, either indoors or outdoors, has been meticulously planned to enable safe exploration and provide a ‘feel-good’ factor where the children, staff and parents feel secure, encouraged and welcomed.
